Our refrigerator began acting ornery on Monday and with a visit from the handy repair guy we found out we needed a part that would have to be ordered. Yes, ordered. It would take three days.
We pretended that it was "an opportunity" to clear out the refrigerator and freezer since we would now be living out of an ice chest for the next three days. Kinda like camping but with showers.
They called us one day early. They had the part. AAAAaaahhhhhh!!! We would have our refrigerator fixed and not have to keep buying ice.
Our handy dandy repair guy/hero arrived on Wednesday afternoon. Five hours later he told me that the part wasn't working....he had tried everything...we needed to order another part....and by the way, that part seems to no longer be made...or its on back-order....no one knows where to get one.
.......what!?!
Our week ended with a trip to three appliance stores to find a new refrigerator. We did find one. A lovely one. One that will not be cooling or freezing any of my food until WEDNESDAY of next week.
Yet soon enough the new refrigerator will be humming appropriately in the kitchen. How lovely it will be to make dinner without having to continually hike it to the garage and hear the "SCKQUAAAK" of the ice chest every time we need an ingredient.
Yes, that is what I look forward to. That will be quite nice.
The good news today was the arrival of the first clue for the Mystery KAL with the lovely Laura Nelkin. I have wanted to knit one of her designs for a long time. Now, I get to do this with her and over two hundred of her closest friends.
Maybe the real opportunity with the "Frig. Saga" is the possibility of meals out leaving more time to knit. Hmmm, that could work.
Have a lovely weekend.
edited:: Laura now has over three hundred and fifty people signed up to Knit Along with her. Exciting.
Kellen,
So nice to meet you today. Sorry to hear about the fridge :(. I was just thinking about signing up for the KAL with Laura Nelkin! Worried about how much time I have . . . Hmmm your photos are inspiring me.

I LOVE your photos and would happily trade you my refrigerator for your camera : )! Ours works beautifully and it is still cold enough here for me to just put everything out on the porch...
