I'm grateful that where we live we need sweaters even in the Spring. It makes this knitter very happy. Although, I did make these short sleeve secretly hoping that maybe even in the summer they will be used. I know I know, but a girl can dream right?
This pattern was lovely. I enjoyed knitting it twice as you see. It is said to be a beginner pattern which in most respects I would agree with. I did think there were a few places that had you never knit a sweater before might be a bit confusing but overall I think it could be easily figured out.
Plus, you have lots of options with this particular design. You can keep the design as is or knit it plain for a boy. You could make it short sleeve or long sleeve. Use color work or variegated yarn. Or add ruffles to the hem. It would lend itself to many different interpretations. Boy or girl.
I love patterns like that.
Both are knit with Malabrigo yarn and are soft and luscious. The orchid pink has vintage glass buttons found thrifting one day. The purple sweater has some funky buttons also found somewhere? that don't match the sweater or each other for that matter. But, that may be what I love most about them.
So there you go. Warmth for my girl. Feeling that maybe Spring is that much closer. I like it. I think she may like it as well. Or she likes the camera, I'm not sure which.
Happy Wednesday to you all.
Kellen both of these sweaters are beautiful. Didn't you just cast on the purple one two days ago? And your beautiful baby girl!!! She is looking so much like her next oldest brother -- in other words completely adorable and kissable! How can a boy look like a boy, and a girl like a girl, but both look like each other? xoxo
