A dear friend, who knits, had a birthday after the holidays. So, three of us arranged for the daddy's to take care of the children and we headed out for the evening. We ate a delightful dinner with lots of lively conversation. We almost made it to dessert, pumpkin waffle with whipped cream--yum, before we had to have her open her gifts.
My other dear friend made a lovely knitting bag lined in silk. So great! I hope to share the one she made for me someday.
These wristers have had much discussion in our little knitting group. While I was working on mitts for my sister-in-law my two friends were trying them on and giving feedback.
"Yes good, keep going."
"This thumb is a bit tighter than the other one, but not enough to make a difference."
"Oh, those colors will work."
All the things good friends and knitters will say who love you.
So the only natural thing to do was make her some of her own, of course.
They are made with Koigu wool yarn and lots of tiny stitches on tiny needles.
My friend put them on immediately and has been seen wearing them about town since.
Success, I think.
Knitting for friends who knit is not only delightful but practical as well. You know that they know to never throw the item in the wash so as to shrink them.
This gives a girl confidence to knit more and more and more!
Happy Birthday my dear friend.
*** The pattern can be found here.
Your friend is blessed! Happy Happy, Joy Joy. Lovely model too.
