This past two weeks I have been working on NaNoWriMo. For those of you not familiar with this they describe it as "thirty days and nights of literary abandon". Thirty days to write 50,000 words. Which is about 1,667 words a day.
This isn't really a problem until one day you don't write those words and then you have 3,334 the next day. If you write a few less the next day well, you can see how it becomes a lot of words very quickly. I attempted this past weekend to make up for a few days when life needed me "all present". I was mostly successful.
I'm doing this for many reasons. First and foremost to see if I can. Second its fun to know that thousands of other people all over the world are doing the same thing. As of Sunday night 1,338,375,720 collective words have been written in fourteen days. Amazing right?
So, If I'm a bit less present here in the next two weeks you'll know why. I'm frantically attempting to write, write, write before midnight on the 30th of November. And since my lovely children have half days at school this week and vacation next week for Thanksgiving let's just say I better write fast.
Anyone else have any fun things planned for this week?
