Our holiday crafting in the last few days has taken place mostly in the kitchen. These sour cream cookies are a family recipe and require in the best of circumstances a full day of making, rolling, cutting, and baking.
Then, there is frosting and decorating them. There is sugar, of course. Lots of it. I could attempt to make these healthier but since we make them only once a year I suppose it all works out.
Honestly, when you have one you really don't mind all the sugar and butter. At least until they're all gone. But by then it's the new year and time to clear out the sweets of the season and focus on chard and fish right?
I've also been doing some super-secret-late night knitting which I plan to share after the holidays. At this point projects are laid out according to priority and energy and time left. I'm watching many projects falling out the back but that's what January is for. Time to rest and finish all the projects that could be used for the next year.
Wishing you a lovely first day of Winter. Happy Solstice!
Are there yummy things baking up in your kitchen today?
