Today was our three year olds first haircut.
Yes, to some that may seem quite shocking. Others maybe not. We prefer to let our boys wait a bit on haircuts-- the first reason being that they both had this lovely curly hair and the second reason being that they look so much older when they finally get that first cut.
It's a "gulpy" moment when the scissors come out. For me, never them. They love it and turn from little boy into "big" boy in a matter of about ten minutes. Though for me, I think three is the soonest I can let their babyhood go. It goes so fast and I suppose I want to savor it a bit more.
Yet, once the hair is cut I do recognize the new adventure. The time to see them as big boys with opinions, ideas and lots of energy. And, in this case lots of smiles.
My boy was very happy when he jumped off the chair today. I'm not sure if it was the haircut or the yummy sucker afterwards but either way he has been bouncing around the house singing since we got home.
Success all the way around!
